Enhancing Your Employability

In addition to the retirement preparatory programmes, the HTCTU organises other enrichment courses to enhance your employability to potential employers. These include the “Enhancing Your Employability” course, where you will learn useful job search skills, how to create a powerful resume and handle job interviews confidently; and the “Exploring Entrepreneurship & Preparing for Self-employment” course which educates you on the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and how to set up a business.

Training subsidy schemes are also in place to assist retiring Home Team officers (both uniformed and civilian) to up-skill or re-skill for their second career. The training subsidy entitles you to a reimbursement of 40% of the compulsory course fee, or a maximum of $400, whichever is lower. Retiring uniformed officers who are interested to further their career in the security or fire-safety fields may also be interested to take up one of the following courses.
