Preparing You for Re-employment within the Home Team
.jpg)
Like all employers, the Home Team stands to benefit when older officers who are able to contribute positively to their Departments are re-employed after their retirement. It allows us to continue tapping on our officers’ specialised expertise and wealth of institutional knowledge; for the officers, working beyond retirement will help them accumulate their savings and enhance their financial independence.
Re-employment will not be automatically offered to all officers who reach their retirement age. Common criteria for re-employment include work performance, medical fitness and conduct. There are also criteria that are specific to certain schemes of service, for instance physical fitness for the uniformed services.
To ensure that you have sufficient time to prepare for your career transition, your supervisor or your Department HR officer would engage you in a Career Transition Dialogue one year prior to your retirement, where you would be informed of your eligibility for re-employment and other options available.
