1&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 2011 was an exciting year for Sporting Singapore. We welcomed three world-class sporting events to our shores: the Mission Foods World Netball Championships in July, as well as the Canoe Marathon World Championships and the Volkswagen Women&amp;rsquo;s Table Tennis World Cup, both held in October. At the 26th SEA Games in Indonesia in November, our Team Singapore contingent performed well, giving us many moments to unite and celebrate as a nation. And ending the year  ......</description><pubDate>02 February 2012</pubDate><category>Other Speeches</category></item><item><title>No delay in releasing news of CPIB probe</title><link>http://app4.mha.gov.sg/news_details.aspx?nid=MjM0MA%3d%3d-CJlYdpE%2fOlc%3d</link><description>CPIB, which is part of the Prime Minister's Office,&amp;nbsp;commenced interviewing one of the officers on 19 December 2011 and the other on 4 January 2012 with regard to investigations against them.
In CPIB investigations, it is normal procedure for the person to be placed under arrest if CPIB assesses that there is some basis for suspecting that the person may have committed an offence.&amp;nbsp; The person can then be released on bail and is required to return for further investigations as needed.

CPIB is an independent organisation, and it determines for itself how to proceed with investigations. 
It also demonstrate that no matter how senior or whatever the positions the officers may be in, they will be subject to investigations if such a case arises.
